The Military And Your MarriageSample

Priority: Connection
Devotional Content:
In today’s video, Mike and Lisa share the importance of connection as a couple. One of the things they do is look for “targets of opportunity.” These are the times that we all have but often do not take advantage of them. Mike and Lisa suggest protecting the calendar and setting aside special time for their marriage and family. It is like anything in our lives that we hold as valuable in that we have to be very intentional in pursuing it. Mike and Lisa set aside time to talk through some of the hard things that come with deployment such as making sure the home is taken care of and that finances are in order. For them deployment does not bring a sense of dread, rather a sense of excitement for Mike and a sense of being supportive for Lisa.
Today’s Challenge:
Identify your “targets of opportunity” and then be very intentional in pursuing them.
Going Deeper:
Make a list of priorities to cover in the time period before deployment of times of separation.
