The Military And Your MarriageSample
Priority: Adjusting to Change
Devotional Content:
In this final video, Mike and Lisa begin by talking about the changes that come with deployment and the things that they do not want to change. Lisa feels the weight of the load that she carries with Mike away as she is in charge of all the finances and the day-to-day operations at home. Mike plans for the flow of change by making decisions together with Lisa and understanding and changing responsibilities. Both express the importance of a couple of things NOT changing, including stability for all.
Not only does change come with leaving but also with coming home. Lisa feels that homecoming is often more difficult than the deployment. The key for them through all the “priorities” we have looked at in this series is the importance of their faith and being spiritually grounded together.
Today’s Challenge:
Talk about the changes that come with deployment or time away and how you can address them as a couple.
Going Deeper:
Lisa says that reintegration after time away can be the most difficult part of the entire process. Talk about what you can do as a couple during this phase.
