Daniel 4 tells a most amazing story of the recovery of Nebuchadnezzar and his confession of Yahweh as the one true God (v. 3). It is a testimony to God’s mercy to allow anyone to be restored to his good grace. What happened in the life of Nebuchadnezzar happened for the entire nation of Israel. If you read Lamentations 5, it promised restoration after the Exile. Then Ezra 6 records the completion of the Temple in Jerusalem some 70 years later as a fulfillment of that promise.
