Tough As Nails: DanielSample

One of my favorite verses in all the Bible is Ezra 7:10, “For Ezra had devoted himself to the study and observance of the Law of the LORD, and to teaching its decrees and laws in Israel.” It impresses on us the importance of reading and applying God’s word for the good of the nation. This is an issue of national security. To illustrate the importance of submitting to God’s teaching, read the little one-chapter book of Obadiah. He wrote his warnings during the first half of the Babylonian captivity (about the time of Daniel 4-5). Because the nation rejected God’s word through Obadiah, they suffered seventy years of captivity.
