TRUST ONLY IN GOD-NOT IN WEALTH OR POSSESSIONS
"A man is in a great place when he has no one to turn to but God." Smith Wigglesworth
"The resource from which God gives is boundless, measureless, unlimited, unending, abundant, almighty, and eternal." Jack W. Hayford
PRAY: Dear Father, I don't want to trust in anything or anyone else besides You - not anything fast or powerful or impressive. And I don't want to trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods. Don't let me think that I can get enough stuff, money, power, or control on my own, or in partnership with any other human being. Don't let me compromise my integrity, honesty, or character to acquire more or earn more. Don't let me set my heart on anything the world has to offer. Let me let go of worldly riches, power, influence, status, reputation, visibility, or fame and completely trust in You. You are all I need, and all I want, to live an abundant life. Thank You for this reminder in the Psalms Lord. You are faithful and I trust in You alone! Amen.
REFLECT: Oh how difficult it is to let go of all the things of this world and to totally trust in God and His ways, His provision, His timing, and His protection! Psalm 20:7 points out to us that the best form of transportation, speed, status, and power came from chariots and horses. The more you had, the more important you were. But David says to let go of those things and simply trust in the NAME of the Lord. Then in Psalm 62:10 David uses extortion and stealing as tempting examples of ways to increase our riches, which was prevalent in the Old Testament times as well. Getting rich from stolen goods surely can't compare to trusting God. David knew to use those four examples of the fastest, biggest, and the best that the world had to offer in order to show us the contrasting truth of trusting God. He calls the world's ways of getting what we want as "vain hope." Today, it's the same way. It's only vain hope to cheat, steal, store away, or hold tight to the riches of this world. We have to let it all go and trust God to give us the desires of our hearts in His way, in His timing, and in His perfect plan. Can you let go of your own ideas, power, connections, and striving and trust that God loves you enough to not only supply your daily bread, but to use you to make an eternal difference in this world? Don't get tempted by the ways and things of this world. There is nothing new under the sun!
ACT: What things, plans, and goals do you have in order to "make it" in this world? Do you feel the nudge to let go of any of it? List the things that you need to let go of and give back to God. You, of course, have to repent of any illegal activities you've done or are planning. Then you need to look at the things that make you feel more important; a new fancy car, a big house, expensive jewelry, the newest cell phone, an office in the best part of town...... all of these things are fun but are they necessary? And do you appreciate them because you are fortunate enough to have the money to afford them, or are you stretching too far and trying too hard in order to keep up? Evaluate your current financial and social status and ask the Lord if they are gifts that you are grateful for, or are they longings to make you feel more important, more powerful, or even more secure? If so, it's time to trust the Lord and to let go of what you've put in place to feel or live better! If you truly trust in the Lord, He will supply all your needs and give you the desires of your heart.

About this Plan
This is a joyful week, full of promises, rewards, and hope. We’ll learn that when we can truly trust the Lord, and not lean on our own understanding, He has gifts that He gives to us in return. It is so important to the Lord when we let go and trust Him, looking to Him, not to others, for our strength and direction. Then He can shower us with blessings!
