River Valley Church SOAP - Part 5Sample

Once again, the Lord prompts Moses and Aaron to go to Pharaoh requesting he let God’s people go. Pharaoh’s heart hardens towards their warnings and he mistakenly believes he is more powerful than Israel’s God. After refusing to surrender his power and authority, there begins a terrible cycle of ten miraculous plagues against Egypt. Each plague has a correlation to an idol or deity the Egyptians were worshipping and illustrates that God is more powerful than any other Egyptian god or ruler. This brings us back to the theme of redemption; God is willing and can save us from even the most hopeless situation. He strengthens the faith of His people through His love, power and ultimate authority.
