GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 2 - GOSample
May 14—God’s Hero: Andrew
Read
John 1:40-42
Reflect
Today’s hero, Andrew, is not as well-known as his brother Peter, yet it was Andrew who brought Peter to Jesus and introduced him to the Messiah. We are well aware of all that Peter did and especially his leadership role in the church; still it all began with Andrew’s heart for Jesus and his desire that Peter know Jesus, too. In two other places in John’s Gospel, we see Andrew introducing people to Jesus. Take a look at John 6:8-9 and John 12:20-22.
Engage
Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:
· What does it say about God?
· What does it say about us?
· Is there a promise to trust?
· Is there a command to obey?
· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?
· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?
Memorize
Now read this week’s memory verse, Mark 1:15. Spend a few minutes working to memorize it.

About this Plan
Let's focus on heroes of the faith who model for us what it looks like to “go!” These heroes were ordinary folks like us. They had a burning message of hope for their generation. Some suffered; some struggled; some were young; some were older; but all of them shared the hope that God had given them.
