GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 2 - GOSample

GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 2 - GO

DAY 7 OF 7

May 16—God’s Hero: A Hebrew Servant Girl

Read

2 Kings 5:1-5, 14

Reflect

Sometimes heroes don’t have the regular qualifications. In fact, that is the case most of the time. Today’s hero is a young girl whose name we are not told. She was stolen from her homeland and was serving in the home of rich and powerful man and his wife. Her master was the commander of the army of Syria, but he was a leper. The young girl had compassion on the man who had taken her captive and told him about someone who could help him. Naaman, the leper, traveled all the way to the girl’s homeland, met the prophet of God who told him to dip seven times in the Jordan River. When Naaman did so, his flesh was completely restored, but more importantly, he put his faith in the true God of Israel.

Engage

Read today’s Scripture passage. Say or write it out in your own words, considering the following questions:

· What does it say about God?

· What does it say about us?

· Is there a promise to trust?

· Is there a command to obey?

· How will I apply this Scripture to my life?

· Who will I show that I care by sharing this truth?

Memorize

Now read this week’s memory verse, Mark 1:15. Spend a few minutes committing it to memory.

Day 6

About this Plan

GO2020 | ENGAGE: May Week 2 - GO

Let's focus on heroes of the faith who model for us what it looks like to “go!” These heroes were ordinary folks like us. They had a burning message of hope for their generation. Some suffered; some struggled; some were young; some were older; but all of them shared the hope that God had given them.
