Jesus is SupremeSample
My prayer is that by now, you have been able to see that Jesus truly is supreme to all others. I want to highlight one final area where this concept Is tangibly on display in the Bible, and it is in the realm of breaking barriers.
Right now, our world is divided in many ways for many different reasons. But Jesus shows us what unity looks like under the umbrella of God’s children, all created in His image.
In Luke 10, Jesus tells a parable of a Good Samaritan. In this story, we learn that a man was going from Jerusalem to Jericho when he was beaten and left half dead on the way. A priest came by, and kept walking. A Levite came by, and kept walking. And finally a Samaritan came by, and helped him on his way. The principle Jesus teaches through this parable is to love our neighbor as ourselves. What He doesn’t say is only to love our neighbors who think, act, vote, talk, and look like us. The significance in this story is the cultural dissociation between Samaritans and Jews. Yet, the Samaritan helped him out.
Jesus constantly broke cultural barriers for the sake of God’s Kingdom expanding here on earth. He wanted to show people of all races, ages, cultures, and backgrounds that God was for them!
How is God trying to use you to do the same?
