I really do believe it is near impossible to have a dating life without regrets — unless you are walking with Jesus. You see, Jesus is the difference maker. He takes what the world calls impossible and makes them possible.

Philippians 4:13 (NKJV) says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
“All things” means ALL things. Purity is not just a possibility, but a reality for those who walk with Jesus and find their strength in Him.

While I will agree that our culture has made it tougher, I also know that Jesus is able to do anything — including give you the strength you need to walk in a brand-new way.

Jesus’ power is amazing. Think about the fact He was beaten multiple times, crucified and died. However, three days later He came back from the dead.

Why does that matter to you and your dating life?

Simple: Romans 8:11 says, “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.”

In other words, if you are a Christian, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is in you right now. It’s not something we have to hope for; it’s something we already have. And if the Son of God can overcome death, then the Son of God inside of you can overcome temptation, an unpleasant past, bad habits, addictions, or anything else the world throws your way.

There are so many events in our lives that we have zero control over – the day we were born, where we were born, who our parents were, whether or not we had brothers or sisters, etc.

However, one thing you can control from this moment forward is the story you tell one day about your dating life.

Maybe you feel as if your dating life has been out of control for the past several years. Maybe you are really young and haven’t even begun dating yet. Maybe you have a past that you regret. No matter where you are right now, you can choose to have a better story.

The story you tell one day will be the result of the decisions you make today. And in Christ, every story can become a great story.
