SWHW Bible Reading Plan: December 2021Sample
Top Takeaway from Sarah Martin:
Let’s get this out in the open: the book of Revelation is WILD. There is beautiful and wild imagery, it is wild and awe-inspiring, and it is confusing and maybe a bit terrifying. But in this “wildness,” might we not discount the validity of the book and the need for our attention and careful study? Revelation is an often skipped-over book. But, we are women led by the Spirit of God to read the Word in its entirety and hang tight to dig into even what is hard to comprehend! Right? Yes!
If you remember anything else in this devo today, I hope you remember this:
The darkness and the enemy are real and powerful. But…BUT! God’s glory, power, righteousness, mercy, and justice overcome.
Revelation 13 brings us to the conversation of deception, which will be prevalent especially in the end times written about in this last book of the Bible. As we read about these frightening entities, such as the beast, I encourage you to go ahead and flip around through Revelation to remember who conquers what will be, for a time, terrifying. So when we read challenging chapters such as 13, go ahead and reflect and even soak in these verses…
“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness, he judges and makes war. His eyes are like a flame of fire, and on his head are many diadems, and he has a name written that no one knows but himself. He is clothed in a robe dipped in[b] blood, and the name by which he is called is The Word of God.” Revelation 19:11-13
This is who wins! This is whom we fear, not with terror, but with awe and wonder and with the confidence of His power and might. The act of remembering WHO Jesus is keeps us from the schemes of the enemy. Just as those who study money know the difference between counterfeit and the real thing, so should we study God, with passion and dedication, to set ourselves up to see deception for what it is and speak life and truth instead.
Father God, we thank You for giving us Your Word that tells us Jesus is faithful and true and is coming back in victory. Give us soft hearts to live with love and also sharp discernment to live with wisdom. We thank You for Your Holy Spirit that You call Wonderful Counselor to equip us along the way. Amen!

About this Plan
Using God's Word as the foundation for our conversation, every devotional is written by women in the trenches of faith, family, and work, aiming to live for the glory of God and the good of others. There are enough devotions included for a typical five-day work schedule. We recommend plugging into your local church for the remaining two days of each week.
