Oh, the imagery of Revelation 5.

John begins to weep ….
“And one of the elders said to me, “Weep no more; behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has conquered, so that he can open the scroll and its seven seals.” Revelation 5:5
This verse reminds us from beginning to end, from Genesis to Revelation, the plan was always going to be fulfilled in Jesus Christ, the Son of God.
He is the fulfillment of the promise to Abraham that from Him, all the earth would be blessed.
He is the fulfillment of the promise to David that from his line would come One who would forever reign on the throne.
He is the Lamb who was slain.
He has conquered death, hell, and the grave.
This Jesus we worship today is the One who sits on the throne, and every creature on heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea will one day proclaim:
“….To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!” Revelation 5:13b
Father, You are worthy of all the honor and glory forever. We could not praise You enough in a thousand lifetimes with a thousand tongues. Worthy is the Lamb! We adore You, Jesus. We love You. Amen
