Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "First Things First"

DAY 22 OF 31

Several types of dogs are sold at a very high price. They are referred to as Champion Dogs. These dogs are separated, bred, and cared for by their owners in such a way that makes them able to win various prestigious dog competitions. This increases their price and adds to their value.

The Bible clearly says that we are champions! We are more than conquerors. We have been determined to be overcomers in this life, since the day we met Jesus. Do we realize this Truth?

A champion is defined as someone who has defeated or surpassed all of his/her rivals in a competition; someone who defends or fights for a cause.

Why can we be champions and more than conquerors? The answer is simple: Because Jesus the Champion is always by our side. Jesus overcame sin and death (the eternal separation between God and humans), which is the penalty of sins, and the last enemy of believers. The resurrected Jesus can assure His presence every day in our lives. Jesus promised that NOTHING could separate us from His love!

Devotion for Parents
Failures make us feel like losers. But the Word of God says otherwise. It says that we are champions because Christ is with us.

Whatever happens in our lives does not change our identity as children of God. With God, we live in victory.

Devotion for Kids
We become disappointed when we lose a competition, even though we know that winning or losing normally happens. So, it is fine if we lose in a competition.

The most important thing is to know that Jesus has saved us. So no matter what happens, it does not alter our identity as champions in God. Jesus will never leave us and He is always with us in every circumstance.

Family Devotion Time
Declare this together:
I will rise!
I will not lose!
Because Jesus Christ the Champion is with me!
