Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Look at "Us

DAY 14 OF 31

How do you feel when you lose or have to let go of something that is precious to you? Maybe, for you kids, it's like a toy you lost or had to give away. For parents, maybe you lost a job that was crucial in your life at one time. It must've hurt when that happened, right?

The story for today will be about Jochebed. I'm sure you've heard the name "Moses" many times. He performed many great feats and miracles andsaved the Israelites from the Egyptians. But, have you heard of the person that God chose to give birth to Moses, his mother: Jochebed?

When Jochebed gave birth to Moses it was not the best time. The Egyptians were killing every Hebrew newborn boy. And that included her son. Because of this, she hid Moses. For three months, she took care of Moses, raised him, protected him from the Egyptians, and risked the safety of her own life for him. But after those three months, in the end, she needed to let him go. She laid the baby in a basket and placed it along the bank of the Nile. Imagine how she felt when she had to let go of her precious Moses for the sake of his future.

Your mother loves you dearly, just like Jochebed loved Moses. Your mom has sacrificed so many things for you. She has sacrificed her time and energy to prepare the best future for you. Jochebed sacrificed the safety of her life when she was hiding and protecting Moses. Without her love and sacrifice for Moses, he wouldn't have grown into a fine man and saved his people from the Egyptians.

Let today be a special day for your mom, grandmother, or other mother figures. These mothers are the people God has given especially to you. They've raised you, taken good care of you, and of course, warmed you with all their love. Take this a chance, as an anointed generation, to show your love to your mom today. Show your gratitude for her actions in your life. And to every super-mom out there, Happy Mothers Day!

Devotion for Parents
We would sacrifice anything and everything for our children, just like our parents did for us. There are times when it feels so hard, but let’s continue doing what’s best for our children. We should do what we can and surrender the rest to God, who is much more powerful than anyone in this world. Remember, our children are secured in His hands.

Devotion for Kids
Today we may not understand our parents’ sacrifices. We will, one day - the time when we become parents ourselves. Parents need our support to persevere in all circumstances. What kind of support do you think you can give them?

Family Devotion Time
On this occasion, children, pray for your parents. Then, parents, pray for your children. This is the greatest support we can give one another in the family. I pray that the love of God continues to hold your family together and His blessing will be abundant in you.
