Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Look at "Us

DAY 15 OF 31

A soldier who is going to the battlefield will first get equipped with all the necessary weaponry. He/she must undergo various training and other vital preparations.

Similarly, a doctor, before he/she is able to open his/her own clinic, needs to study medicine for many years. And then, they need to have the proper and necessary medical equipment in order to help and diagnose their patients properly.

So, what do we need to be the light and witnesses of God? Do we have to attend theological seminaries? Do we have to attend seminars and training? What kind of equipment do we need?

Being a witness of Christ begins on the day we accept Christ as our personal Lord and Savior. The Holy Spirit will fill our hearts and anoint us. It is His anointing that we need the most to be able to be His witness and be a light. His anointing enables us to speak and do what is needed. His anointing is that powerful weapon we need in every circumstance.

The Holy Spirit will train us, renew us, change our character, and transform us into His image more and more each day. That way, we can be His witness all the days of our lives.

Remember, as humans, we are unable to be the light or witness of Christ on our own. His anointing is what we need. Pray that God will continue to anoint and help us to do His will in our lives.

Devotion for Parents
As adults, we tend to overthink. We overthink about how to be the light and witness of God. We use our own power, we rely on ourselves to do it. No wonder we fail time and again. We forget that His anointing is the key. Let’s come back to God and allow the Holy Spirit to guide our steps.

Devotion for Kids
No one can be a light or a witness of God when he/she is relying on themselves. It is the anointing of the Holy Spirit that enables us to do so.

Today, let us come to God and ask for His anointing and power to be upon us so that we may be a witness of God.

Family Devotion Time
Read about Philip and the Ethiopian in Acts 8:26-40. Discuss the role of the Holy Spirit in this story and how the Holy Spirit works mightily.
