Parents and Kids Daily Devotional "Look at "UsSample
Kindness can be seen when we are being friendly. For example, when we are in the middle of something and someone interrupts us for help, how we respond to that person shows our kindness, even though we may not be able to help that person right away.
Without us realizing it, sometimes our response can be hurtful, unfriendly, rude, and even offensive just because of bad timing. Or, we might help that person, but grudgingly.
The Word of God today reminds us to be friendly at all times. It may not be a good day for you, but don’t make others have a bad day because of how you respond. Let’s be friendly, even when it is difficult to do so.
When the damage is done, let’s not hold back in asking for forgiveness and try to make up for it by turning the situation from bad to good. Doesn't the verse continue to say “.. forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.”?
Devotion for Parents
Have you ever responded to your children in a way that hurt them? What did you do or say? Have you tried to make up for that mistake and ask for forgiveness?
Devotion for Kids
Have you ever responded to anyone in an unfriendly or even rude way? What happened? How did you make up for it?
Family Devotion Time
Let’s remind each other not to be rude, but always be friendly. If there are any hidden grudges? This is the best time to open up, forgive each other, and turn over a new leaf.
