You Are Created For...Sample
Do you know where you come from? You come from a relationship of love. You are made for a relationship.
The same substance that you will find in the world, that you will find in the earth, is the substance that you are made of, and not just the substance on the earth - the substance that we find in stars. We are stardust. We are carbon-based like the stars. We are hydrogen, helium, cells, atoms, molecules, and everything that is connected. It is exactly the same substances that you find in the earth, and this connection and cooperation of all these substances is a temporary arrangement. It will come to an end and then dust will return to dust.
But then God breathed His breath into man. Now, the word for breath is ruach. It is the same word used for wind. It is the same word used in verse 2 for the Spirit that hovered. God is Spirit. He gave us spirit. We are made in His image and likeness. We have the ability to have a relationship with Him.
Then we have a soul, thoughts, emotions, desires, and imagination; it enables us to communicate with each other differently than the rest of creation, to have a language, to communicate. A completely different kind of relationship, the I-thou relationship. That's how God made us.
We must realize it, we must accept it. And the most important of these relationships is our relationship with God.
Look at what happens to man when that relationship is disturbed or broken. It was a relationship of trust. God said, "Do not eat from the tree, for I made you like Me and you have the ability to choose, unlike the animals who live instinctively. And you can practice it by choosing not to eat from this tree."
And man begins to wonder. Suspicion arises in him - why does God say this? Is He withholding something from you? There is more than just that. Choose your own path. And that relationship is broken. The moment man's relationship with God goes wrong, his relationship with his fellow man goes wrong. For the first time, there are new emotions - blame arises. There is fear, things that were never there before. And suddenly it is between Adam and Eve, and it's not just that. It disrupts the relationship with the earth. Suddenly there are thorns and thistles and Brussels sprouts that come into being and things that were never there.
It seems as if the core of our life falls apart and we have problems with each other when we have problems with God. And we have problems with the world and with ourselves and everyone when it goes wrong. We can only find happiness in Him. That's why Augustine says, "You’ve made this for yourself, oh Lord. And our hearts are restless in us until it rests in You."

About this Plan
Life is about relationships. We are created to live in relationship with Him (Me - Thou), Others (Me - You) & the World (Me - It). Therefore, we want to go deeper into God, closer to each other, and further in our world.
