When you were younger, and something scared you, you could pull a blanket over your head and pretend it wasn’t there. Now, we know better. The blanket didn’t do much, did it? It just kept your eyes off the thing that scared you. As you’ve grown, things aren’t that simple anymore. When things get difficult, you can’t make them disappear with a blanket, but you can turn your eyes to the God you can trust. This Psalm says that trusting God takes knowing God. Going to God in the good and the bad will help us know God better and, in turn, trust God more.
Today, search for different names that God is called in Scripture. Then, find a way to remember a few that remind you that God can be trusted.
