Acts in 28 DaysSample
Read Acts 3:1-7. Peter says something very important here. Can you work out what it is? We often look at the problems of the world, our communities, or even our families and think, “I don’t have what it takes to make a difference.” Peter and John didn’t have money or possessions, a tonne of fame, or social influence. They had lost their leader to a murderous mob! They were two bros walking around and using what they had to love people like Jesus did.
GO DEEP
“Then Peter said to the man, ‘I do not have any money. But I do have something else that I will give to you. Jesus Christ from Nazareth gave me authority to do this. So now I tell you to walk!’ Peter held the man's right hand, and he helped him to stand up. Immediately the man's feet and ankles became strong.” Acts 3:6-7
You have the same authority as Peter and John!
You may not have money (or maybe you do!) and you may not feel like you have any power, but you can use what Jesus has given you.
BE BOLD
Get out your journal and write about a situation that needs a solution. It can be something personal to you or something you know about in your community or the world. Ask God to show you how He has equipped you with the authority given to you by Jesus to make a difference. Write down three things you can do right now and two things you might be able to do in the future. (Here’s a hint - one thing you can do is PRAY!)
MEMORISE IT
“But Peter, along with John, stared at him intently and said, ‘Look at us!’ And the man began to pay attention to them, eagerly expecting to receive something from them. But Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk’.” - Acts 3:6 NIV
