From the Cross to the World: Living Easter Every Day

DAY 5 OF 7

The Silence of Saturday

The Sabbath after Jesus’ death must have been excruciating for his followers. They had left everything to follow him. Now he was gone. The tomb was sealed. Hope seemed lost.

Saturday was a day of silence. No miracles. No angelic announcements. Just waiting.

Yet God was not absent. Even in the quiet, he was working. Behind the scenes, the greatest victory in history was about to unfold.

We all experience “Saturday seasons.” Times when God feels far, when prayers seem unanswered, when the future is uncertain. In those moments, it’s tempting to give up or lose heart. But Scripture reminds us that, “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living” (Psalm 27:13).

In seasons of waiting, God is still faithful. He is never idle. And often, he uses the waiting to deepen our faith and strengthen our hope.

We can also be his presence in someone else’s waiting. A word of encouragement, a shared meal or a simple prayer can remind someone that God has not forgotten them.

Reflection Question:

·Are you in a “Saturday” season right now? What promise of God will you hold on to?

·Who in your life might need a reminder of God’s presence in their waiting?

Prayer:

Lord, when you seem silent, help me trust that you are still at work. Give me faith to wait well and courage to bring hope to those who are waiting. Amen.

About this Plan

From the Cross to the World: Living Easter Every Day

Easter is more than a weekend. It’s the turning point of all history and the heartbeat of our daily lives. The cross shows us the depth of God’s love; the empty tomb reveals his unstoppable power. But the resurrection was never meant to be kept to ourselves. You’ll walk through Holy Week into Resurrection Sunday, exploring what it means to live in the hope of Easter every day. You’ll see how humility, service, surrender, compassion, and mission flow naturally from the risen Christ’s work in us. Each day includes Scripture, a reflection, practical application, and a prayer.
