Anchored in His StrengthSample

Strong In the Lord
Who told you that you had to do it all on your own? We live in a society that celebrates people who are “self-made.” It seems to be a badge of honor to brag that you don’t need help. People want to hustle and grind and fight their way to the top. What does all of that do? It can leave us tired, weak, and lonely. That is not the way God designed us to be. He did not intend for us to only look out for ourselves or to do life alone.
Oftentimes, when we live this way, we are neglecting our most important connection: our connection to the Creator of everything that was and ever will be created. Man-made strength runs out. We must follow the instructions that Paul gave the church at Ephesus:
Be strong in the Lord [be empowered through your union with Him]; draw your strength from Him [that strength which His boundless might provides]. Ephesians 6:10 AMPC
Don’t try to draw from your own strength. Be strong in the Lord. Be empowered by the Lord. God has infinite power. Plug in to Him. Truly embrace His Word and believe that He loves you and wants the best for you. Know that God’s best is going to look different than what the world celebrates and praises. And that’s okay because this world and everything in it will one day pass away, but God remains forever and always. Trust Him. Submit to His Will for your life. He will provide you with all of the strength you need.
Rest becomes an act of faith; obedience becomes your real success. Over time, you’ll notice the shift from striving to abiding—from carrying it all to being carried. You weren’t designed to be self-made; you were designed to be Spirit-empowered. Draw from His limitless source and walk today in the strength He so gladly supplies.
Reflection Question:
Where have you been running on self-made strength, and what is one tangible way you will draw from the Lord’s boundless might today?
