Power In Weakness
Believe it or not, there is power in your weakness. There is power in recognizing that you don't need to be strong on your own. If you read through the Bible, you will see that the people in the Bible who did great things in the name of the Lord, had their weaknesses from Abraham to Moses, from David to Elijah, from Peter to Paul. All of these people dealt with different weaknesses. When Paul confronted his weakness and asked God about it, he realized that God's grace was sufficient for him and that he was not the one who needed to be strong because God was strong.
But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9 AMPC
Paul even found glory in his weakness. Because when he was weak, God's Strength was made perfect in him.
Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength). 2 Corinthians 12:10 AMPC
Yes—there is real, undeniable power in weakness. Not because weakness is fun, but because it creates space for God’s power to show up. It's okay to admit that you cannot handle it all. There's strength in that, especially when you're leaning on God.
Let this truth reshape your reflexes. Instead of hiding your limits, bring them to God and ask for grace right there. Name where you feel insufficient, and invite His strength to fill the gap. Reach out for prayer. Set a gentle pace. Choose obedience over image. As you do, you’ll experience what Paul discovered: dependence doesn’t diminish you; it makes room for Christ’s power to rest on you.
Reflection Question:
Where are you feeling weak right now, and how will you invite God’s sufficient grace to meet you there so His power can rest on you?
