Finding the WordsSample

NOTE: Each day, a prayer is written based on that day's Bible reading.
Dear Heavenly Father,
In a world that has taught us to call football games “Super”, we struggle to find the words to adequately express Your unique greatness. Therefore, we are so thankful that You have given us vocabulary in Your Word to honor who You are:
You are the One who created all things, and the heavens declare Your glory. (Genesis 1:1, Psalm 19:1)
You are the everlasting God; our Creator God who never grows weak or weary, and no one can measure the depths of Your understanding. (Isaiah 40:28)
Your eternal power and divine nature are evident in creation so that none of us is without excuse. (Romans 1:20)
Only You know the future, O Lord, and everything You plan comes to pass. (Isaiah 46:10)
All the people of this earth are nothing compared to You … You do Your work and no one can stop You. (Daniel 4:35)
You are rich in wisdom and knowledge, and Your ways are beyond our ability to fully comprehend … and yet You grant us wisdom when we are in need and inquire of You. (Romans 11:33 and James 1:5)
You are merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, yet justly judging sin as well through the atoning work of Jesus upon the cross to take away sin’s curse for all who believe. (Exodus 34:6-7, Colossians 2:13-15)
Truly O LORD, there is NONE LIKE YOU …. You are holy, loving, all-powerful, all-knowing, eternal, just, gracious, faithful, unchanging, merciful, and sovereign. You are awesome. You are super. On this day, and every day, may we never forget it.
In Jesus’ "name above all names" we pray,
AMEN
About this Plan

Ask many Christians about their prayer life, and they will admit their struggle to find the words to pray. For thousands of years, liturgies have helped believers articulate words in their communication with God. This collection of 30 prayers (and the Scripture behind them) is designed to improve our prayer lives as we allow God's Word to populate our words in prayer.
