Pillars of Prosperity: Productive Labour

If you work hard at what you do, great abundance will come to you. But merely talking about getting rich while living to only pursue your pleasures brings you face-to-face with poverty. Proverbs 14:23 TPT

Praying for a financial breakthrough without actually doing anything is like microwaving empty plates and expecting food to appear. It’s not possible. God is powerful, yes. But He’s not a magician, He’s a God of principles. One of those principles is that He blesses the works of your hands. Now, if your hands are always in your pocket, what’s He going to bless?

Work isn’t a curse, it’s a channel. Even in the Garden of Eden (before sin ever entered), God gave Adam a job: tend and keep the garden (Genesis 2:15). That’s God saying, “Son, I love you… But get to work.” Whether you’re writing, baking, managing, selling, or coding, doing the work of the ministry, God loves it when you’re productive. And let’s not confuse busy with fruitful. Being busy without results is like jogging on a treadmill; you’re sweating, but you’re not going anywhere.

God partners with our effort. Even the widow in 2 Kings 4 had to pour out oil into jars she gathered. She wasn’t chilling on the couch while angels filled containers. Nope, she worked with what she had, and God multiplied it.

So, if you want God’s blessing to flow, give Him something to bless. Start that small business. Pick up that skill. Volunteer, intern, bake, teach, whatever your hand finds to do, do it well. Stop waiting for “manna” to fall when God has already given you flour, oil, and firewood. Get cooking!

Prayer and Confession
I am not lazy, I am productive! I work smart, I work hard, and God blesses all I do. My hands are not empty; they are empowered. I show up, I grow up, and I level up. My labour is not in vain!
