Transformed by God's LoveSample

God restores our relationship with Him
“In this is love, not that we have loved God but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” (1 John 4:10 ESV)
God sent His Son to this earth to save us from the power of Satan, as we read yesterday. But there is more. Humanity is not an innocent victim that needs to be saved from evil powers. We brought this situation upon ourselves.
Our first ancestors, Adam and Eve, chose to turn away from God and listen to His adversary, Satan. In doing so, they gave him free rein, and he took advantage of it. At the same time, they hurt God terribly with their disobedience. They effectively declared war on Him. They became His enemies (see Romans 5:10).
Against this context, it is even more remarkable that God sent His Son into the world. The love that led Him to do so was rejected by us humans. Yet He did not turn away from us, but held on to His plan of salvation. He wants to be reconciled with us. He wants to restore His relationship with each and every one of us.
How do you experience your relationship with God? Do you long for everything that separates you from Him to be removed? Then ask Him to do so, because He wants it just as much as you do!
