Bearing witness to God's love
“And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent His Son to be the Savior of the world.” (1 John 4:14 ESV)
Giving your heart to God has major consequences. The change begins inside, but then becomes visible in your life — which is clearly God’s intention. Jesus calls His disciples “the light of the world” that must shine for people, so that they will honor God the Father for the good works that believers show.
Jesus commanded His followers to be His witnesses throughout the world. They may share their own experiences of faith, but it is primarily about the basic truth of the Gospel. The good news must be proclaimed everywhere!
The book of Acts in the Bible describes inspiring examples of Christians who shared their faith. Some did so in their own communities; others undertook long journeys. Some testified about Jesus while simply doing their daily work; others made it their profession to spread the Gospel further. And so it continues today, about two thousand years later. All these different people, each testifying in their own way, are used by God to proclaim the good news of salvation and renewal.
