Day 9: Courage to Stand Out for the Right Reasons

Devotional:
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego knew the consequences of disobeying the king’s command to bow to the statue. Everyone around them chose the “safe” option, but they chose to honor God instead, even if it meant the furnace. They trusted that God was able to save them, but they also declared, “Even if He does not, we still won’t bow.” That’s courage—loving God more than your image, comfort, or survival. Today, you may not be facing a literal fire, but you do face pressure to bow to trends, opinions, and “popular” choices that don’t honor God. Following God will not always feel popular, but it will always be worth it. Standing out for the right reasons is one of the boldest ways you can worship.

Choosing not to join in on a challenge, party, post, or situation everyone else is hyping—just because you know it doesn’t honor God—is a modern “even if He does not, we won’t bow” moment.

Let’s Talk To God: God, give me courage to honor You even when it costs me popularity or comfort. Help me care more about pleasing You than fitting in with everyone else.
