From the very beginning, goodness has been a part of God’s character. When we look all the way back to Genesis at the start of Creation, we find goodness all over the place. God created the heavens, and they were good. God created animals, and they were good. God created the sun and the moon, and they were good. God created man and woman in His own image, and yes, they were good, too. When He reflected on His work, God didn’t just call all of Creation good; He called it very good. Yes, goodness was in the blueprint of Creation from the beginning, and it’s still part of God’s plan. When we see good around us today, we’re seeing the very nature of God Himself on display in the world He created. We’re seeing the goodness of God’s character in and through us. We’re seeing the proof that’s been there since the start that God is always good.

This week, make a list of the things you see or experience that reflect God’s goodness. Each time you add an item to the list, stop and thank God for demonstrating His goodness in your everyday life.
