DAY 1 OF 20

Have you ever been around someone whose energy was infectious? The kind of person whose presence makes you feel better? Whose demeanor lifts your mood? Whose outlook on life is contagious? When we’re around those kinds of people, we often think, I want to be more like that! Whatever it is that makes them that way, I want some of it in my own life, too. While all kinds of things can draw us to other people, as Christians, it’s not our own presence or energy that ultimately brings people closer to us. For those who believe in God, it’s His unconditional, overwhelming, never-ending love. As John reminds us, that kind of love can only come from God. Why? Because that love is supernatural. It’s not possible without God. In fact, that love is not just a characteristic of God; it’s the very core of His identity. When we believe in and come to know God, we receive that love in our own lives. And it’s that love that sets us apart. It’s what draws people to us. It’s what we have to offer to this hurting, broken world.

This week, consider how you’re reflecting God’s constant love to the world around you. What can you do to share that love with others?

About this Plan

Always

As humans, we all wonder what God is really like? Is God kind, loving, powerful, attentive, loyal? Is God distant, unfair, harsh, judgmental, or absent? In other words, we’re asking: what can we be sure is always true about who God is? In this devotional, we’ll look to Scripture to explore those questions and ground the answers in unshakeable, unchangeable truth, uncovering more about who God is and why we can trust Him not just now, but always.
