Have you ever found yourself in conflict with someone in your life? Maybe you’ve fought with a family member over a political difference. Perhaps you’ve argued with your spouse over finances. Maybe you’ve had a falling out with your best friend. Maybe you’ve battled it out with one of your kids. Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the conflict, we all know how it feels to be at odds with someone we love. In those moments, we may even wonder if that fight will be the end of it. Will this battle be the thing that causes us to stop loving the person we’re in conflict with? Or worse, will it be the thing that makes them stop loving us? In our human relationships, this is always a risk. But in our relationship with God, it’s one thing we never have to worry about. As Paul reminds us here, nothing can separate us from the love of God. No question, no choice, no doubt, no struggle—nothing! While our relationships on Earth will ebb and flow, there is no barrier to our relationship with God. He is loving… always. And He will love us… always.
Take a moment this week to think about what this passage means to you and why it’s so important to remember that there is nothing that can separate you from God’s love.

About this Plan

As humans, we all wonder what God is really like? Is God kind, loving, powerful, attentive, loyal? Is God distant, unfair, harsh, judgmental, or absent? In other words, we’re asking: what can we be sure is always true about who God is? In this devotional, we’ll look to Scripture to explore those questions and ground the answers in unshakeable, unchangeable truth, uncovering more about who God is and why we can trust Him not just now, but always.
