DAY 7 OF 20

Have you ever had to do something that completely and totally scared you? Maybe it was something fun and exhilarating, like a massive roller coaster, hiking to an incredibly high peak, or going through a haunted house. Or maybe it was something incredibly real and nerve-wracking, like interviewing for a new job, or taking the step to leave a relationship, or standing up against wrongs done against you. Whatever it looks like, the reality is that it’s always difficult to face our fears. This is especially true when we’re doing it alone. That’s why these words from the prophet Isaiah are so important. When we are afraid of anything in life—big or small—we can hold on to the truth that we are not alone. God is with us, and because of that, we don’t have to be afraid. We don’t have to walk forward into any part of our life that feels intimidating, overwhelming, or worrisome without the presence of God with us as we go. When fears arise, we can lean on God’s presence to help us get through whatever we’re facing because that presence is with us always.

Today, spend time in prayer thanking God for His presence that’s with you always.

About this Plan

Always

As humans, we all wonder what God is really like? Is God kind, loving, powerful, attentive, loyal? Is God distant, unfair, harsh, judgmental, or absent? In other words, we’re asking: what can we be sure is always true about who God is? In this devotional, we’ll look to Scripture to explore those questions and ground the answers in unshakeable, unchangeable truth, uncovering more about who God is and why we can trust Him not just now, but always.
