DAY 3 OF 20

You know the old saying, “All good things must come to an end,” right? In this life, it’s pretty easy to see that’s true. Our favorite TV shows will eventually stop airing. Our favorite athlete will one day retire. Our little kids will one day grow up and leave home. Our good days will turn into our not-so-good days. Even our very lives will one day end. It’s not difficult to see that nothing really can last forever. That’s what makes the words of the Psalmist so important for us today. In this ever-changing world, we need to remember and celebrate the one thing that will last: God’s love for us. That is the only thing we can be certain will endure forever. When everything else around us is unstable, uncertain, or unreliable, we can root ourselves in the truth that God’s love is always there, always for us, and always going to remain. That is a reason to be grateful!

Take time this week to memorize this verse. Use it as a prayer of gratitude each morning, thanking God for loving you always. Then, as you move throughout your day, look for evidence of that enduring love in your life, and when you see it, stop and thank God for it.

About this Plan

Always

As humans, we all wonder what God is really like? Is God kind, loving, powerful, attentive, loyal? Is God distant, unfair, harsh, judgmental, or absent? In other words, we’re asking: what can we be sure is always true about who God is? In this devotional, we’ll look to Scripture to explore those questions and ground the answers in unshakeable, unchangeable truth, uncovering more about who God is and why we can trust Him not just now, but always.
