Understanding RighteousnessSample

The Purpose and Failure of the Law
Scripture: Romans 3:19-20
“Now we know that whatever the law says, it speaks to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be stopped and all the world may become guilty before God. Therefore, by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law comes the knowledge of sin."
Devotional
It is important to understand the role of the Law, which was given to show our need for a Savior. The Law exposes sin but does not provide the escape from it. Romans 3:19-20 shows us that no one can ever be made right with God by obeying the law. Righteousness found in our own doing can feel fragile, but God offers us a foundation that never shifts—a way that does not depend on our own requirements. By placing our faith in Jesus, we are made right with Him, moving from striving under the Law to resting in His finished work.
Reflection Questions:
Am I using the Law to condemn myself or to appreciate the complete work of Jesus Christ?
How can I stop striving under the weight of the Law and start resting in the righteousness Jesus gave me?
Prayer Declaration
Father, thank You for showing me the true purpose of the Law. I acknowledge that my own efforts cannot make me right. I receive the righteousness of God by faith and choose to walk today in the freedom that comes from trusting in Your finished work. Amen.

About this Plan

Righteousness is a gift. It is not something you work for, struggle for, or attain through personal effort. This 18-day plan from Pastor Stephen Waiganjo and Ruach West Assembly is designed to help you explore how the Gift of Righteousness is your permanent, non-negotiable qualification. Through reflection, and prayer, we invite you to move past the weight of human effort and rest in the grace of your right standing with God.
