DAY 5: JESUS — THE GOOD SHEPHERD

Study Scriptures:

Psalm 23:1–3 (NKJV)

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.”

John 10:11 (NKJV)

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.”

Hebrews 13:20–21 (NKJV)

“Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, make you complete in every good work to do His will.”

Jesus is the Shepherd who never abandons His flock. He doesn’t drive you with fear; He leads you with love. In your confusion, He restores your soul. When our hearts feel empty and life looks like a big, endless desert, God’s voice is the compass and shelter that points and protects us. Scripture promises, ''He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul” (Psalm 23:2‑3). The same Shepherd who sacrificed His life on the cross ensures that no believer remains permanently adrift.

When the wilderness looms, remember: the same voice that calmed storms, raised the dead, and conquered death itself is speaking directly to you, guiding you, gifting you peace, and ensuring you are never truly lost again. And the Holy Spirit helps you hear His voice and follow His lead. No other voice can bring rest or safety like His. Even when you walk through the valley, His rod and staff protect you. You are never alone; your Shepherd walks beside you.

CONFESSION

I belong to the Good Shepherd, Jesus Christ. His voice leads me, His love restores me, and His Spirit guides me in righteousness all my days.

PRAYER DECLARATION

Lord Jesus, thank You for being my Shepherd and my protector. Thank You for leading me to still waters and restoring my soul daily. Holy Spirit, help me to recognize Your voice and follow Your lead with full obedience. Keep me from wandering and help me dwell in Your presence forever. Amen.
