People Like Nathan that Corrects

Everyone makes mistakes. But no one likes the feelings of correction. This makes people insulate themselves from correction. But it is dangerous when no one can correct you. At that moment, one can be heading for a fall while everyone watches but smiles and ignores it. But Nathans would not do that.

Today's verse reveals how Nathan confronted David with his sin. David had yielded to the temptation of lust. He further succumbed to deception and murder to protect his name. It was clean. It was untraceable. He thought He had got away with it. But God was not done with him. He raised a Nathan for him.

Although Nathan could have died, he boldly declared the mind of God unto David. Armed with God's wisdom, he exposed David's sin, and this restored him to God. The Holy Spirit is given to us to fulfil this function. But there are times when we deafen our ears to His promptings. We go our own way contrary to God's instructions. But God places people who love us enough to tell us the truth around us. People who will not spare us the truth.

You need a Nathan. You cannot get far in destiny without people who care enough to tell you the truth. You need someone who will look you in the eye and tell you that you are wrong when you are. Wake up from the lie that you cannot make a mistake. Pray that God should send you Nathans who will ensure that you don't miss your way. Rise and Pray.

• Father, send me a Nathan in my journey in Jesus' name.
• Father, help me to be attentive to the Nathans You have sent to me in Jesus' name.
• Father, raise me as a wise Nathan for others in their path to destiny in Jesus' name.
