Deep Wells & Empty Cups: A 5-Day Journey to Learning to Be Okay With Not Being Okay & Finding Your Way Back to the WellSample

You may have noticed that lately your heart just hasn’t been quite right. You’re a bit more tired than usual, a bit more irritable, and sometimes downright cranky. Small breakdowns in communication with our Father can lead to individual untruths, hurt, disappointments, or pain being cataloged in the files of our hearts.
Have you ever heard the phrase “the devil is in the details”? These are the individual parts or items, a particular thing considered in relation to a whole, or a minor or inconsequential item. If you consider this in relation to our hearts, it appears that King Solomon (David’s father) was on to something when he said, “Guard your heart, for out of it flows the issues of life.”
Over time, if we leave these things unaddressed and deem them minor or inconsequential, they can unknowingly lead us to an empty cup. It’s a slippery slope. One day, all is well, and in what seems like overnight, all is, in fact, not well. A steady stream of miscommunication, misdiagnoses, unregulated emotions, and flat-out lies can lead to an empty cup.
Today, I’d like you to consider this thought: it's not over. The battle isn’t lost. You are not defeated. Maybe your cup just isn’t as full as you’d like it to be, or as full as it once was. And that’s okay.
You’re here now, after every lie that tried to keep you bound. You’re ready to do the work and explore what it means to have an empty cup, and you’re also ready to be guided to the Well of all wells, the deepest of the deep, the supernatural things of God. And I’m ready to dive in with you! Let me just say, I’m proud of you. I’ve watched some of the strongest of God’s soldiers, myself included, come to the exact place you are. It is a place of tremendous courage and unfathomable strength. Blessings to you!
Now, let me ask you this: Have you skipped over some areas and labeled them inconsequential, only to find they’re the very things draining you?
Over the next few days, we are going to explore some concepts, break down some barriers, and remove some limiting beliefs, but for today, let’s ask ourselves: what details am I overlooking, and can I agree that my cup isn’t broken, but just empty?
{SAY THIS}
My cup (my heart) is not broken; it's just not as full as I’d like it to be in this season. I’m safe. I’m loved and protected. The important thing is that I acknowledge I need God and am willing to find the Well and be filled. Perfection is a myth. Grace is my portion.
