Deep Wells & Empty Cups: A 5-Day Journey to Learning to Be Okay With Not Being Okay & Finding Your Way Back to the WellSample

So, the truth is, you’ll be back here at some point or another, to an empty cup.
I know.
But it’s true.
As we discussed yesterday, we have highs and lows in life. This isn’t the first time you or I have been empty. This isn’t the first time it’s been hard, but let me prophesy this to you, hear me clearly: this is the last time you’ll skip over acknowledging your empty cup until it's too late and the dry place has worn you out!
This is also the last time you’ll operate without revelation and truth about the deep well that is available to you.
And, it’s the last time you’ll dread the thought of an empty cup! How do I know? Well, that’s easy: You can do all things through Christ! You can acknowledge, identify, and apply. That’s why you are who you are. That’s why you are called to serve those you serve. That’s why you can be trusted.
My prayer is that you’re able to notice earlier, course-correct faster, and speak up sooner than before! That you are able to notice when miscommunications, or flat-out lies from the enemy, are threatening your “it is well with my soul” testimony. There’s a supernatural hope in God, a knowing we have deep in our bellies, a surety we rely on, that’s available for you to tap into!
There is a refreshing waiting for you; I can feel it in my spirit. You’re finally on the other side of admitting you’re dry and of having the courage to set out in search of living water!
I’m so encouraged because, truly, it’s when we come to the end of ourselves that the beautiful finished work of the Cross shines. Before we go our separate ways, allow me to say, the woman at the well in John 4 might not have received her breakthrough if she hadn’t come seeking water with an empty container!
So don’t be afraid of either thing: needing to seek out water or having an empty cup.
May your days be full of revelation, and may you forever carry with you the courage to say, “No, actually, I’m not doing so well today.” Even more, may you have the tough conversations that lead to a personal testimony about a man who gave you a drink that indeed refreshed your soul!
Let’s normalize returning to the well as many times as we need to. Sometimes, the refreshment you need to keep going comes first from the posture of surrender.
Love you.
