DAY 4 OF 30

LEARN FROM REBEKAH

A dear friend of mine always shares that "Delayed obedience is disobedience." That harsh truth is one someone definitely whispered in Rebekah's ear.

Rebekah shows up in Genesis as a woman of action. When Abraham's servant came looking for a wife for Isaac, she didn't hesitate. She offered water to the servant and all his camels (a serious chore!) and, when asked to leave immediately to meet a man she’d never seen, her response was swift and simple: "I will go."

Years later, Rebekah was a woman of faith who struggled with favouritism, clearly preferring her son Jacob over Esau. This ultimately led her to orchestrate a deception to ensure Jacob received the blessing. It’s a messy reminder that even great people make serious mistakes.

What can we learn from Rebekah? When opportunity knocks—whether it's a huge calling or just a slight chance to serve someone—how quickly do you respond? Her initial "I will go" changed the course of biblical history by setting her on the path to becoming one of Israel's mothers.

This plan seeks to help you learn lessons from women in the Bible. I am amazed at how relevant their stories are today and the innumerable lessons we can learn from them.
