Week 3 – Day 13 (Wednesday)
Psalm 62:6-8 – His Promise, Our Response
Jesus proved that living wholeheartedly for God can lead to people questioning and trying to demean you. When Jesus returns home to Nazareth in Matthew 13:54-57, some of the hometown crowd question His power and position with God. “Isn’t this the carpenter’s son?” (vs 55) You can almost hear the sarcasm in their voices.
Today’s psalm speaks of confidence in God. The psalmist describes God as a fortress for protection, a rock for security, and a refuge for times of retreat. That is God’s promise to us when doubts try to overwhelm us. Our response to His promise is to “Trust in Him at all times.” (vs. 8)
