Week 3 – Day 15 (Friday)
Psalm 111:2-5 - His Provision
At some point, we have either said or heard others say, “The Lord will provide,” but sometimes we struggle to feel that certainty in our hearts. The miracle of Jesus feeding the 5,000 is well-known to us (Matthew 14:13-21). We celebrate how the Lord so practically provided for those who sought Him then… but do we have that same assurance in our own lives today? When resources are scarce and familiar supports disappear, do we confidently say, “The Lord will provide”?
We can learn so much from this account.
- Listen to Jesus – vs. 16
- Give Him what you have – vs. 17-18
- Let Him bless it – vs. 19
- Watch Him provide – vs. 20
Centuries before Jesus fed the 5,000, we hear of the provisions of a gracious and compassionate Lord. “He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.” (Ps. 111:5)
He will always be Jehovah Jireh, our Provider.
