Overcoming Fear This EasterSample

When I Fear Loving Again
Opening our hearts always involves risk. To love means exposing ourselves to rejection, disappointment, and pain. That’s why many of us prefer to protect ourselves by emotionally closing off.
Jesus loved deeply… and was rejected. His friends fled, the crowd condemned Him. Yet the resurrection shows us that rejection does not have the final word.
The risen Jesus goes back to seek His disciples—even those who failed. His love does not depend on our perfect response. He keeps loving, keeps calling, keeps drawing near.
Risk your heart and discover that connection is worth it. Love is always a risk, but it is also the path to true life.
The resurrection invites us to live open, not hardened—because Christ’s love conquers even rejection.
Application
Reflect:
- What relationships have you avoided out of fear of being hurt?
- Where have you isolated yourself emotionally?
- What small step can you take today to love again?
Prayer
Jesus, thank You because Your love conquered rejection and death. Heal my heart where it has been wounded, and give me courage to love again. Help me trust that with You, there is always hope. Amen.
Final Thought: The resurrection reminds us that love is always worth it.

About this Plan

Life is full of fears: not being enough, failing, showing vulnerability, facing pain, or taking the risk to love. In this 5-day plan, you will walk through several passages from Easter Week and discover how Jesus faced those same fears—and how His example, sacrifice, and resurrection invite us to live with confidence, honesty, and hope. A devotional from Equip and Grow for those who desire a more real faith and a life guided by God, not by fear. Written by Kristi Krauss and Marlene Martinez.
