When You Need HopeSample

Day 7: It’s Not Too Late for You
Hopelessness says: “It’s too late for me.”
GOD SAYS: “Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17 TLV).
If you woke up today, it’s not too late for you. God wants to show you new joys, new compassions, and new life.
God is not finished with you, and He has good works planned for you to accomplish in this life. You’re not too old for Him to use. You’ve not gone too far astray that God cannot bring you back to do powerful things for His purposes in other people’s lives.
You are not too late for hope.
Hope suggests the possibility of thriving despite circumstances. According to Dr. Benjamin Corn, a leading Israeli oncologist and professor at Israel’s Institute for the Study of Hope, Dignity, and Wellbeing, hope involves having meaningful goals you believe are achievable.
Dr. Corn and a colleague studied the hope factor in dozens of terminal cancer patients expected to live one to two years. Despite ending treatment and no longer expecting to recover, many patients scored as high on a hope evaluation as those still receiving treatment. What gave them hope? They mentioned things like resuming a hobby, spending time with their grandchildren, or writing their life story.
What pursuits could help you thrive in your still-beautiful, still-precious life? What are some spiritual goals you might set? Could it be seeking Bible verses about hope, joy, or God’s presence? Praying for others more? Memorizing Scriptures to strengthen and encourage you? Looking for God’s gifts to you each day? Maybe it’s simply getting through this difficult season with more trust in God than you had before. That’s beautiful! And achievable. What are some steps that could help you accomplish these goals?
As long as you are breathing the air of this Earth, it is not too late for you to experience renewed life in Jesus. Every moment is another invitation to the fullness of your new life in Jesus.
May God fill you with hope in Him, and may you thrive in His love for you.
Prayer
Father, with You, we are never too late. Your love gives us meaning and fills us with hope. Fill our friend with hope today and every day. Walk them into the bright future You have planned for them.
About this Plan

Life is hard, and sometimes it hurts – a lot. Sometimes, it overwhelms us and drains the hope right out of us. This seven-day Bible reading plan will help you find your hope again. It takes a look at some of what hopelessness “says” and reveals what God says instead – stuff you can hang onto and count on, things to assure you: there is hope for you.
