DAY 4 OF 5

Day 4 – Faith for a Hidden Reality

We’ve all had those days where it feels like everything is falling apart. Maybe you woke up to a news cycle full of chaos, or ended your day heavy with the weight of unmet expectations. Perhaps you’ve been hit by tragic news and simply don’t know how to proceed. It’s easy to feel like we are breaking when the world around us is, but we must remember: God’s promise of "all things new" isn't an escape from the world’s unpredictability, it’s a promise of our renewal within it.

As 2 Corinthians 4:16-18 reminds us, even as the world or our own strength wears away, our inner person is being made new day by day. This daily renewal is the quiet, steady, and powerful work of the Holy Spirit, where the very trials we fear are turned into tools for our transformation. We aren't just called to endure trials; we are invited to be molded in the middle of them. God uses the friction of a broken world to produce something sturdier within us: deeper endurance, stronger character, and a renewed, steadfast hope. He doesn’t will the pain of difficult circumstances we experience, but is sovereign over it.

When it looks like nothing on the outside is changing for the better, faith reminds us that God is always actively at work, even when we cannot physically see it. He is using every circumstance to make us new from the inside out.

Questions to Reflect On

  1. What if you saw difficult seasons not just as something to survive, but as a place where God is renewing you day by day? What would change about your perspective on your circumstance/s?
  2. What trial or challenge in your life right now could God be using to shape you? What character is Holy Spirit producing in you?

Live It Out

Draw a circle on a piece of paper. Label the outside: “What feels broken?” and write it down (e.g., chaos in your world, stress, pain, disappointment, fear; try to be as specific as possible) and label the inside: “What God is renewing” and write down what God is doing. (e.g., patience being formed, hope growing, character developing, endurance strengthening).
