All Things NewSample

Day 5 – Staying Renewed
As we come to the end of this devotional, we reflect on how God is making all things new, beginning with the gift of eternal life he bought for us on the cross. Through the death and resurrection of Jesus, we have been made a new creation. We look back with gratitude, remembering the moments where God has shown his faithfulness and made things, even our mistakes, beautiful. We see how he has already brought new life out of old things.
One of the beautiful truths about who God is, is that he does not stop working. He is constantly drawing us closer to himself and continuing to do bigger and greater things in and through us. The testimonies we celebrate from the past are not meant to end there. They become the foundation for believing for more, dreaming again, and preparing our hearts for what God wants to do next in and through our lives. God declares in Revelation 21:5, “Look! I am making all things new!”
In Luke 5:37–38, Jesus teaches that new wine cannot be poured into old wineskins. To receive what is new, the old must go. This reminds us that believing for new things is not passive or a one-time thing; it is an active and constant partnership with the Holy Spirit, allowing God to shape us, change us, and make room within us, daily.
Letting go of old wineskins may look like releasing old habits, old ways of thinking, comfort zones, or even wrong beliefs about who God is, for good. It will not look the same for everyone, because what God is doing is personal. But this letting go is not loss, it is positioning. It is aligning ourselves with what God is doing now.
We are reminded that the God we serve is faithful. He does not call us to surrender without pouring out something good and fresh. The God who began a good work in us is faithful to complete it. As we live out “new,” we can trust him with our mess, with uncertainty, and with our questions, and believe that because of Jesus, the best is yet to come!
