Like a Tree – Devotional

DAY 25 OF 30

YOUR TOOLS

What Fruit Will Be in the Room?

“By their fruit you will recognize them.” - Matthew 7:16 (NIV)
“This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit…” - John 15:8 (NIV)

Big Idea: Your fruit will tell the truth about your life—quiet faithfulness becomes visible in the harvest.

There is a sobering clarity that comes when you play a part on a team that sees fruit come to pass. We see the part that we played, but we can also see how much was outside of our control.

That is what Jesus means by fruit. Not hype, not image, but fruit: the visible evidence that love took root and kept growing.

The world isn’t changed by information alone. It’s changed by nourishment—lives that heal, strengthen, and point to Jesus through steady love. Your fruit is someone else’s food. Your presence is someone else’s shelter. Your words might become someone’s turning point.

You’re growing a harvest right now.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What kind of fruit has your life been producing lately—what would the people closest to you say?
  2. Where do you sense God inviting you to become more publicly fruitful (words, service, generosity, consistency)?
  3. Who is someone God is asking you to nourish in this season?

Prayer Focus: Father, make my life truly fruitful. Let my love be visible, my words be life-giving, and my faith be steady enough to feed others.

About this Plan

Like a Tree – Devotional

Psalm 1 describes the person who is like a tree planted by streams of water, whose leaves do not wither and who yields fruit in season. They are privately healthy, deeply planted and rooted in the Lord, and publicly fruitful. But how do we live like a tree? This 10-week devotional dives into the key principles of being rooted in God, delighting in His Word, and bearing lasting fruit for His Kingdom.
