Esther- The Quiet Courage Leader

Esther’s story is a powerful study of leadership that emerges not from elected office or military might, but from a position of relative powerlessness and quiet obedience. She wasn't born a queen; she was an exiled orphan who found herself in the palace of Xerxes. Her journey teaches us that true leadership often lies in influence, courage, and divine positioning.

Esther's primary leadership trait was her ability to influence from behind the scenes, coupled with profound humility and courage. When her people faced annihilation, her cousin Mordecai challenged her, saying, "And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?" (Esther 4:14).

This moment required Esther to move beyond her personal safety and embrace her purpose. She did not immediately storm the king’s court; instead, she used wisdom and spiritual preparation. She requested a three-day fast for herself and her people before approaching the king, acknowledging her complete dependence on God's favour (Esther 4:16). When she finally acted, she used strategic influence rather than confrontation. She didn't accuse or demand; she invited the king and Haman to banquets, creating an environment where the truth could be revealed at the perfect moment. Her courage was quiet, dignified, and strategically deployed.
