Moses –The Reluctant Leader.

Moses is perhaps one of the most complex and compelling leaders in the Bible. His leadership journey didn't begin with a grand proclamation but with deep reluctance, famously saying, "I am slow of speech and slow of tongue" (Exodus 4:10). Yet, God chose this man, a prince of Egypt turned humble shepherd, to confront the most powerful empire of the time and lead millions of freed slaves through the wilderness.

Moses teaches us that true leadership isn't always about confidence, charisma, or competence—it is fundamentally about availability and obedience. When God calls, our lack of skill is never the final word; God’s provision is. Moses continuously doubted his ability, but he ultimately submitted to God’s plan. When God provided Aaron as his spokesperson, Moses learned that ministry is a team effort and that he didn't have to possess every single gift.

A critical lesson from Moses's style is the principle of dependence. His strength was not in his own intellect or military prowess, but in his intimate relationship with God. He constantly returned to the Lord for direction, whether it was parting the Red Sea, finding water in the desert, or receiving the Law. As leaders, we must regularly retreat to hear God's voice and remember that we are merely instruments, and He is the one who provides the strategy and the power.

Today, let Moses's story encourage you. If you feel inadequate for the task before you, remember that God specializes in equipping the unqualified. Your primary role is simply to show up and trust the One who called you.
