Stepping Into the FutureSample

Stepping Into the Future

DAY 3 OF 9

You have tremendous potential that God has invested in you through these many years of preparation for what lies ahead! You can fully experience that potential when you choose to immerse yourself in God's word and carefully obey God.

God invites you today to live in the present, while anticipating the future he has prepared for you.

All of your sins, all of your shortcomings were nailed to the cross! All the things people have teased you about, or belittled you, and all the times you have been passed by have been nailed to the cross! Hallelujah!

Make a funeral pyre of the bad memories and discouraging messages people have said to you, drench them with gasoline, set them aflame, and bury the ashes. You are a new creature in Christ! Old things have passed away!

As you step into the future, you can trust the Lord for forgiveness, for instruction, and strength!

Maybe you are uncertain of what exactly your future might look like, or maybe you thought you knew what your future looked like, and the rug just got pulled out from under your feet. As you look to the future:

  1. Start with God’s word. Start by sharing God’s love in actions and words right where you are–with your family, with your coworkers.
  2. Pray–listen to what God has to say to you.
  3. Seek wise counsel from Godly friends.
  4. Check out the external circumstances. If a door is locked, God has locked that door for your own good. Look for an open door.
  5. Finally, if you have no clear direction, take the next faithful step towards the desires of your heart. When you have processed the desires of your heart through God’s word, prayer, and wise counsel, then you can claim God’s will with energy and enthusiasm! As you move forward, the next steps will become clear.

Courageously step into the future God has planned for you by walking in obedience to His word!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you that I am not defined by what people have said about me in the past. Thank you for all the life experiences I have had so far. I look forward to using these experiences and the skills and abilities you have blessed me with in a way that honors your name. Grant me the discernment to listen only to wise counselors. Thank you for walking beside me as I step into the future. Amen.
