Day 3 - Understanding Assignment, Calling and Purpose
If our ultimate purpose is to know God, why do we have unique dreams, talents, and callings?
It can be easy to confuse them, but they actually work together in a beautiful way:
- Your Assignment is what you are given to do for a specific season.
- Your Calling is the unique blend of gifts, talents and passion you were created with.
- Your Purpose is the unchanging reason you were created for.
Understanding the difference between these three keeps us from getting confused and gives us clear direction. Our assignments shift with the seasons, and each new assignment shines a brighter light on our unique calling. As that calling becomes clear, it ultimately steers us toward fulfilling our highest purpose: deeply knowing God and transforming into His image.
In the end, every dream we chase and talent we use should simply be an overflow of our relationship with Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Our gifts aren't meant to replace God; they are the exact tools we use to connect with Him and show His love to the world!
