Word 4U Today: Wasting the Most Important ThingHalimbawa
Are you having a bad day? Parang wala ka ng nagawang tama? Wala ng magandang nangyari sa buhay mo? Siguro makaka-relate ka sa story ni Jacob. As part of the lineage of Abraham, Jacob was heir to the promise of God that all nations would be blessed through his family. Pero, the reality of Jacob’s life was not matching up to his faith and he was ready to totally discount God.
In this story, there was a famine in the land that caused Jacob to send his sons to Egypt in search of food. When they returned, Jacob’s heart was broken anew when he learned that Pharoah’s men had detained his son, Simeon. Fearing the worst, Jacob was overcome by anguish at the thought of losing another son like he had lost Joseph twenty years earlier. It was too much for him to bear and Jacob cried out, “Everything is against me!” Like Jacob, we sometimes conclude that God and the whole world is against us. When we do, we miss the grace of God unfolding before us through our circumstances.
In time, Jacob discovered that neither Joseph nor Simeon had been taken from him permanently. In fact, Joseph had been blessed by God and was given a position of authority in Pharoh’s court. Ginamit ni God ang position ni Josept para ma-save ang buong pamilya ni Jacob and to preserve the promise. The next time your circumstances have you ready to throw in the towel like Jacob, remember the grace of God is always at work in your life.
Are you experiencing similar situation like Jacob? Ask God to help you persevere and to trust in Him.
